New Voices. New Works.

Inspiring the next generation of choreographers with the chance of a career — create a new work for the professional stage. Two of our company dancers made their Deos Ballet choreographic debut in June of 2024. This year, eight choreographers have come together to create seven new works, right here in Grand Rapids. From concept to choreography, lighting design to costume design, casting dancers, running rehearsals, and everything in between, AWAKEN showcases local and national artistic talent on the professional stage. Witness the future of dance this May.

The Gezon Auditorium is located adjacent to the main entrance of the Spoelhof University Center, near the Admissions office and Spoelhof atrium. Enter on the southwest side of the Spoelhof Center, by the flagpole. Once inside, turn right to enter the Gezon Auditorium lobby.
