Madison's Retirement Announcement
Deos Contemporary Ballet’s reimagined “Giselle” brings the classic tale into 20th century New York City. Set in a pre-labor reform 1906 in the Garment Districf, our tale of Giselle brings the theme of class division into a new light — pitting a greedy landlord against his tenement workers and their families. Money becomes a recurring theme throughout the first act, inspiring dances of outrage and revolt, and ultimately, a mad dance to the death.

A dancer prepares to leave the stage
"As a young child, Madison Massara-Leister discovered dance was her passion.
Passion ran in the family. Her grandmother painted. Her grandparents enjoyed ballroom dancing. Her mother was very athletic growing up and her father, an engineer, found joy in invention and design. Her younger brother, Luca Massara, dances with the Hungarian State Opera."
